International Circus Day 20/4

Experience juggling like you’ve never seen it before, step into the arena yourself and get exciting stories from the circus world when the Cirkusmuseet offers free entry to all its activities this day in celebration of circus.

Show

The juggler Jonathan Zeuthen is one of the greatest Danish juggling talents and one of the few who can juggle 7 balls! In his fantastic show you will experience juggling at a tempo and performed with a musicality rarely seen. It’s all spiced up with a good dose of humour for all ages. Jonathan performs at 13 in the Fencing Hall.

Circus Fun

Before the show, you can try your hand at the artistry for Circus Fun, where the museum’s artist will be ready to help you, regardless of whether you want to follow in Jonathan’s footsteps and throw yourself into juggling, or if you are more daring and want to try your hand at the trapeze. Circus Fun takes place from 10.30-12.30 and is for the whole family.

Tour

If you like drama, beautiful costumes or stories about some of the biggest personalities in the circus, you can experience it on a tour of the museum. It happens at 10.15 and lasts approx. 30 minutes

Creative Workshop

If you and the family would rather unleash your creative powers, you can do so at the museum’s creative workshop, where you, among other things, can make your own circus hat, collages and much more. The workshop is open from 10-14. There is free entry to all activities at the museum and in the Fægtesalen.

Talk show

For the adults, there is a talk show where Per “Tøffe” Nielsen, who appeared as a clown in Cirkus Baldoni in 2023, will be interviewed about what it was like to travel for a year with the circus. Tøffe, as he is called colloquially, will, among other things, tell about what it was like to enter the universe of the circus. The talk show takes place at 11.45 in the Auditorium, Vestre Messegade 5.

Circus Baldoni

The circus museum closes at 14, after which you can end the day in Circus Baldoni, this day located in Avedørelejren. Tickets for Baldoni must be purchased directly from the circus, which has reduced the ticket price on the occasion of Circus Day.

You thus have the opportunity to have a particularly experiential Circus Day, organized by the Cirkusmuseet and the association Danske Cirkusvenner.
