Shrovetide Party/Fastelavnsfest on 15 February
Find your most festive costume and join us for a colourful Shrovetide celebration with face painting, barrel‑beating, and a circus‑themed Shrovetide Sunday.

Bring the whole family to a vibrant and fun Shrovetide party at the Circus Museum on Sunday 15 February from 10:00–15:00. We have plenty of exciting activities that will delight both children and adults.

Face Painting and Creative Workshop
Between 10:00–14:00, you can be transformed into a funny clown or a beautiful princess by professional face painters. In the creative workshop, you can let your imagination run wild and make your own fun hat or whimsical Shrovetide mask.

Circus Performance with Cirkus Arcus
Experience the talented children and young performers from the local circus, Cirkus Arcus, when they take the stage with impressive circus acts in the Fægtesalen at 11:00 and 14:00. Their performance will showcase acrobatic skills both in the air and on the floor.

Barrel‑Beating for All
At 13:15, everyone is invited to take part in the traditional barrel‑beating on the Alarmpladsen behind the museum. As always, crowns await the lucky Cat Queens and Cat Kings, and all participating children will receive a bag of sweets.

All activities are free and require no registration.
